Cittamani Hospice Service - Education Project

Education Project
Building Supportive Communities: Education, Information and Support for Grief and Spiritual Needs at the End of Life

The aim of this project is to build supportive communities, in the Sunshine Coast region, through the provision of education, information and support for the grief and spiritual needs of people experiencing the end of their life and their family and friends. Through these processes we hope to build a network of community caring for the needs of those at the end of life.

This project is offered to:

•  Professional caregivers (GPs, Nurses, Social Workers, Aged Care staff,
Hospice Palliative Care Practitioners, volunteers)
•  Non-professional caregivers (within the community)

The educational workshops offered in 2007-2008 are:

•  Enabling Spiritual Awareness and Support
•  Reflecting on Grief and Loss

This 3 year project has been generously supported by the Department of Health and Ageing, under the National Palliative Care Program.
